学院于2016年7月由原经济管理学院拆分成立,已有20多年办学历史。学院的办学理念是“明理笃行,追求卓越”,现有教职工109人,其中专任教师87人,在校学生3247人(本科生2981、研究生266人),已逐步形成各学科专业协调发展、特色学科突出的良性格局。

School of Management
Introduction
The School of Management was split from the former School of Economics and Management in July 2016 and has a history of more than 20 years. The school has seven Undergraduate programs and three master's degree programs in Business Administration, Public Administrative Management, and Agricultural Management. Currently, there are 109 faculty members, including 87 full-time teachers. The school has a total of 3247 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The School of Management has gradually formed a benign pattern of coordinated development of various disciplines and specialties with distinctive disciplines.
Objectives and Orientation
Adhering to the overall goal of building a first-class and internationally renowned high-level ocean university, the school comprehensively improve the level of talent cultivation, discipline construction, scientific research, and social services, aiming to create a distinctive management school featuring ocean characteristics at a strong comprehensive strength.
Talent Cultivation
Currently, there are six Undergraduate programs, majoring in Business Administration, Administrative Management, Financial Management, Accounting, Tourism Management, Land Resource Management, which consists of 3,428 undergraduates. Meanwhile, the school provides 3 master's degrees programs in Business Administration, Public Administrative Management and Agricultural Management, 1 Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program in Marine Economy and Comprehensive Management, has a total of 152 graduate students.
Discipline Construction
The school has a provincial-level key disciplines of Agricultural Economic Management, and three university-level key disciplines of Agricultural and Forestry Economy Management, Public Administration and Business Administration, forming a management discipline system that leading key disciplines, prominent characteristic disciplines, coordinated development in multi-disciplines, distinctive marine features, and outstanding advantages, that able to support the university's 5+1+N marine discipline system.
Faculty staffs
Currently, the academic staff consists of 87 full-time teachers, including 10 professors and 16 associate professors. Faculty members holding senior titles account for 29.89% of teachers; 47 academic staffs holding a Ph.D. degree, accounting for 54.4% of them. There are 3 Nanhai Scholars, 27 Master Supervisors and 10 members of the selected university's Qianbaishi projects. The school has an a faculty team of appropriate structure, high academic attainment, strong scientific research ability, and enrich teaching experience.
Scientific Research
In the past 5 years, we have undertaken more than 200 scientific research projects, including more than 50 projects at the provincial and ministerial level, and more than 180 projects at municipal and department and horizontal levels, receiving research funds worth more than 20 million yuan, published nearly 20 academic monographs; published more than 170 academic papers, including more than 90 papers in CSSCI and other core journals; won 15 awards for scientific research achievements in provincial philosophy and social sciences; published more than 10 research or consulting reports that adopted by various ministries and commissions of the State Councils, provincial people's governments, and received important instructions from provincial leaders.
Platform Construction
The school operates several key scientific research platforms such as the Marine Cultural Industry Research Center, ASEAN Research Institute and Marine Economy and Management Collaborative Innovation Center, which are jointly established with the former State Oceanic Administration's Mission and Education Center. Meanwhile, the school is the important support unit for Guangdong Coastal Economic Belt Development Research Institute and Marine Economy and Management Research Center. Currently, there are four undergraduate teaching platforms at provincial level and above, three postgraduate training platforms, five on-campus laboratories, and 67 off-campus practice bases.
